Ascension Dance Inc. offers dance classes, camps, events, birthday parties and studio-space rentals in Chatham, Ontario. This policy explains how we handle information through ascensiondance.ca and our related registration, booking, billing and communication services.

Information we collect and why
When you enquire, register or make a booking, we collect information needed to answer you and provide the service. This can include names, contact details, a dancer’s age or date of birth, guardian and emergency contacts, class or booking choices, attendance, payment records and correspondence. Relevant accommodation, allergy or health information may be requested to support safe participation. Please provide only information relevant to the service.
We use this information to manage classes and bookings, communicate about participation and schedule changes, issue invoices, record payments, respond to questions and meet record-keeping obligations.
Children and family information
Parents or guardians provide registration information and consent for children who cannot provide meaningful consent themselves. We explain relevant information uses in language suited to the participant and their guardian. Contact us to discuss questions about a child’s information or a participant’s ability to consent.
Registration, payments and service providers
We use service providers to operate the studio and website. Our current systems include Jackrabbit for registration and parent accounts; Zoho services for billing, email and enquiries; Google Forms for selected requests; and Mailchimp for email-list subscriptions. Website hosting and payment-processing providers also process information needed for their services.
Information may be processed or stored outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of the relevant jurisdiction. Providers receive information needed for the services they perform. We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may also be disclosed where permitted or required by law.
Email choices
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. We may still need to send information about an active registration, booking, invoice or schedule change.
Photographs, video and class viewing
Ascension creates photographs, dance films and performance recordings. Some classes may also be shown on screens in the studio waiting area. The purpose, audience and permission for recording, sharing and promotional use should be explained through the relevant registration or event consent process. Public promotional use requires the applicable permission; attendance or visiting this website does not by itself provide blanket promotional permission. Website tools, cookies and external content
Our website may load tools for traffic measurement, chat, maps, reviews, videos or registration. These can collect browser and device information, IP addresses, pages visited, cookies and interaction data. The information collected depends on the tools and settings that are active.
Linked third-party services have their own privacy information. Browser cookie settings can limit some storage, although that may affect features.
Access, correction, retention and protection
Contact us to request access to or correction of your information, discuss withdrawing consent, or ask about deletion. We may need to verify your identity and authority to act for a participant. Some information must be retained for legal, accounting, safety or dispute-related reasons, and withdrawing information essential to a service can affect our ability to provide it.
We retain information for the purposes described and applicable obligations, then securely dispose of it or de-identify it when appropriate. We use safeguards suited to the information’s sensitivity and limit access to people who need it for their work.
Questions and changes
Send privacy questions or concerns to studio@ascensiondance.ca. We will review the concern and explain our response. If it remains unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. We will update this policy when practices change and obtain any consent required for new uses. Effective date: 2026-10-14.
